What is the NSGP?
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), provides an annual competitive opportunity for nonprofit organizations in the form of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP). The NSGP provides funding for physical security enhancements and other security-related activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist or other extremist attack. The NSGP also seeks to integrate the preparedness activities of nonprofit organizations with broader state and local preparedness efforts.
In assessing the national risk profile for Fiscal Year 2024 DHS/FEMA has determined their main priority to be:
Enhancing the protection of soft targets/crowded places

The Nonprofit Security Grant Program is designed to specifically address the Safety and Security
